What happens during a free consultation call?
A free consultation call is a brief, no-pressure conversation designed to help you determine whether I’m the right therapist for you. The call typically lasts 10–20 minutes and includes:
1. A chance to share what brings you to therapy
You can briefly describe what you’re experiencing, what you’re hoping to work on, or any goals you have. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with—this is not a therapy session.2. An overview of how I work
I’ll explain my therapeutic style, approaches I use, and what our sessions might look like. You can ask any questions about my background, experience, or methods.3. Practical details
We’ll cover session length, fees, scheduling, and policies, so you have a clear picture of the logistics.4. Space for your questions
You can ask anything—about therapy in general, what to expect, or concerns you might have.5. Deciding together if we’re a good fit
The main purpose of the call is to see whether we’re a comfortable match. There’s no obligation to book a session afterward; you’re free to take time to think about it. -
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
I currently offer teletherapy sessions to individuals and couples all across Colorado.
Online therapy works much like an in-person session—just from the comfort of your own space. Here’s what you can expect:
1. You’ll receive a secure video link
Before your appointment, I’ll send you a private, HIPAA-compliant video link. There’s no special software to download—just click the link at your session time.2. Choose a comfortable, private space
Find a quiet spot where you feel safe talking openly. Headphones can help with privacy and sound quality.3. You can expect the same level of support
Online sessions are just as effective as in-person therapy for most concerns. You’ll still experience the same care, attention, and collaboration.4. Technology is simple—and we can troubleshoot together
If anything interrupts the session (like a lost connection), we’ll reconnect or switch to phone temporarily so your time isn’t lost.5. Privacy and confidentiality are maintained
I use secure, encrypted platforms like Doxy.Me to protect your information. -
Do you take insurance?
I am considered an “out-of-network” practitioner.
Accessibility is an important part of my practice. I offer sliding scale options to ensure therapy remains affordable and can provide superbills for clients who wish to seek reimbursement through their out-of-network insurance benefits.
A superbill is a detailed receipt that I provide after your therapy session. It includes all the information your insurance company needs to process out-of-network reimbursement—which means you pay for sessions up front, then submit the superbill to your insurance to see if they will reimburse you for part of the cost.
A superbill typically includes:
Your name and date of birth
My practice information and credentials
The date and length of your session
The service code (CPT code) used for billing
A diagnosis code (required by most insurers for reimbursement)
The session fee you paid
How it works:
You attend your therapy session and pay the fee.
I provide a superbill monthly or upon request.
You send the superbill to your insurance company (usually through their portal).
They review it and let you know if you’re eligible for partial reimbursement based on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

How often will we meet?
Most clients meet with me weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy. Meeting regularly helps build momentum, trust, and consistency so we can make meaningful progress. As you start to feel more stable or reach certain goals, we may shift to biweekly or another schedule that fits your needs. I’m flexible and we’ll decide together what frequency best supports your well-being.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
People choose therapy for many different reasons, and you don’t need to have everything “figured out” before reaching out. Therapy can be helpful if you’re noticing patterns, emotions, or situations that feel difficult to handle on your own, or if you simply want a safe, supportive space to reflect and find self-acceptance.
You might benefit from therapy if you’re:
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or burned out
Struggling with relationships, communication, or boundaries
Processing a major life change, loss, or transition
Trying to heal from past experiences that still affect you
Wanting to better understand your emotions, behaviors, or identity
Looking for tools to cope, feel more grounded, or build healthier patterns
Curious about personal growth or self-exploration, even if nothing is “wrong”
Therapy isn’t just for moments of crisis—many people come because they want support, clarity, and a place to talk openly without judgment.
